Preventive dental care is important. Here’s why.
Proper oral hygiene, routine check-ups, and professional cleans are all important for lowering your (and your family’s) risk of dental issues. And your dental health can affect your overall well-being:
- Australian adults lose roughly 3 million hours of paid work or study to dental issues each year.1
- Never or rarely visiting the dentist has been associated with diagnoses at a higher-stage for oral cancer, compared to those who go to the dentist at least annually.2
- Tooth decay is one of the most common reasons for tooth loss, and missing teeth may affect your quality of life.3, 4
- Untreated tooth decay in children can lead to more complex, ongoing problems in their adult teeth. 5
- Dental injuries can be painful and costly to treat, and a custom-fitted mouthguard may help reduce your risk of injury while playing sport.6
